The Bearded is one of the prettiest vultures and has a feathered head since it does not dip into carcasses. Instead, this species feeds on the bones that are left after the other vultures have had their full. It drops them, sometimes as many as thirty times, in an effort to shatter them so it can get to the bone marrow inside.
